Today’s recipe is a bakery-style Meat and Cheese Puff Pastry made using ready-made puff pastry sheets — flaky, buttery layers filled with seasoned minced beef and a rich cheese blend that melts beautifully.

Perfect for dinner, parties, lunchboxes, or as a sophisticated appetizer.

🟢 Ingredients

🥐 Pastry

  • Ready-made puff pastry sheets (squares or rolls)

🥩 Filling

  • 250 g finely minced beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper

  • Mixed spices or beef seasoning

  • A small pinch of cinnamon

🧀 Cheese Blend

  • Mozzarella (for stretch)

  • Cheddar (for bold flavor)

🥚 Egg Wash (For Golden Finish)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoon milk

  • A small drop of vinegar

Optional: Sesame seeds or nigella seeds

🟢 Step-by-Step Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Filling

  • Sauté the onion over medium heat until softened (do not brown).

  • Add the minced beef and cook until it changes color.

  • Add garlic, salt, pepper, spices, and cinnamon.

  • Cook until fully done and the liquid evaporates, keeping a slight shine.

  • Let the filling cool completely.

🔑 Pro Tip:
Never add hot filling to puff pastry — heat melts the butter layers and prevents proper puffing.

2️⃣ Shape & Fill

  • Place the filling in the center of each pastry square.

  • Add a generous layer of mozzarella and cheddar on top.

  • Fold into a triangle or rectangle.

  • Seal edges using a fork for a decorative and secure finish.

3️⃣ Bake to Perfection

  • Arrange pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Mix egg, milk, and vinegar.

  • Brush the tops evenly.

  • Sprinkle sesame or nigella seeds if desired.

🌡 Bake at:

200°C (392°F) for 15–20 minutes
Until puffed and deeply golden.
